A Letter, from Michaela & Adam
“About Us”? There are layers to this, so let’s start with “us”, as in the humans here.
We’re Michaela & Adam Fitzpatrick. A couple of small-town kids who met in college, got our degrees, got married, and did well enough in the corporate grind as a mental health therapist and a mechanical engineer. Then along the way, life took us in a different direction together. That direction apparently involved a lot of cats.

Then along the way, life took us in a different direction together. That direction apparently involved a lot of cats.
We’re in Oklahoma City now, where we started working on Oklahoma’s first cat cafe in 2021 and officially opened in 2023. Since then, Don’t Stress Meowt – Cat Cafe has been our cornerstone. This passion project has helped more than a thousand cats find homes and allowed us to donate nearly $100,000 to local animal welfare efforts.
In 2025, we opened our second Cat Cafe location in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and with it – a new brand of Don’t Stress Meowt. Don’t Stress Meowt - Groom and Board was created to fill a need for cat exclusive care that was greatly underserved. We have professionals that don’t just mix in some cats in a day full of dogs – they dedicate their entire careers to perfecting their craft to give cats the absolute best care they can receive in an environment that is tailor-made for them.
And now? Don’t Stress Meowt – Cat Stuff. And why? Two reasons, really:
1) is that it is simply awesome. You don’t do all of this without kind of liking cats. There’s some good cat merchandise out there to be found, but especially in the AI era, we’re tired of the soulless, generic crap filling our targeted ads. We can fill our closet now with real, original Cat Stuff that you can’t get anywhere else while supporting the humans that create the art at the same time.
And 2) is that…have you seen that state of small business in the post-Covid era? It’s hard out here. It’s hard out here for regular people and it’s hard for regular businesses. In a way, we sort of equate it to today’s “gig economy” where folks are just scrapping to make a little extra on the side to get by – that’s us here too at the business level.
Could our OKC Cat Cafe survive if it weren’t for our Tulsa location? Could either Cat Cafe survive if not supported by Groom & Board? Can any of that survive into the future without support from Cat Stuff? We don’t know the answers to that right now, but we don’t want to take anything for granted and then look around a couple years from now to find we’re in a bad place and utterly unprepared. So we prepare now. We’re pulling together what we can now to protect our future, because our mission to be a force for good in animal welfare is too important.
So, who are we?
A couple of real people trying to hold it together, running a small business with a whole lot of cats and humans depending on us. We care about what we’re making, who’s making it, and what it helps us keep doing.
